i voted for a black man today...

I never thought the day would come, atleast not in my lifetime. I understand that Obama won't change things with the snap of his finger. I understand that he isn't the next Dr. Martin Luther King jr, but I've never felt more proud (as a black man, but also when it comes to politics and being an american).

Its hard for me to wrap my mind around this idea, because I remember laughing at the thought of me being a president as a kid.

But even bigger than myself, I'm realizing that my daughter is gonna grow up an will feel like she can be anything she wants (besides a stripper, imma keep her off the pole!)

I know that people are gonna test Obama, fox news is gonna go hard and hit him with bullshit attacks left and right, so the hard part has yet to come.

But all of that aside, if felt so damn good to vote for a black man.

Obama aka the community organizer aka "that one" is my president, is our president!

4 days left...

So the biggest day in u.s. Political history is coming up, and being that I rap, I really wanna express my thoughts about Obama. But to be honest, I have a good feeling that its gonna be a ton of people making obama songs, and I don't want it to come of corny. I don't know, ill figure out a way to do it without it looking like a bandwagon trendy song for the moment.

Just my life...

So it's saturday night, my birthday was on thursday, and i'm sitting at home blogging while my wife is making her way to the club. Something is just a little off...but shit, i didn't wanna go out anyway. "the club" is overrated anyway. I got some Cap'n Morgan and coke at the house, some cheetos..I'm good. plus i'm broke anyway. I need a damn job...well, i know a better job. I love my job now, well, maybe not love, but it's cool, it's just not paying enough. I need that college degree dough!

I'm hitting the studio tomorrow, possibly, to make some dope music. Haven't recorded in about a month or 2, so it should be interesting. We shall see....

Peace

Here we go...

This makes me sick. To be blunt, a black man telling an old white man, "i beg of you, i beg of you" (and then giving him a hug) turns my stomach. I've been waiting for this, because i knew that certain people in this country were not about to let Obama take over without trying everything they could to stop him. The news/television media have been tiptoe-ing around it, but i feel in these last three weeks, we are going to see the true face of America.

People wanna act like fire hoses, white hoods, and nooses was waay in the past. That shit happened 40 years ago...and the only difference is people aren't overt and out in the open with racism.

shit, this youtube clip fucked up my day....time to chill

string of thoughts...

Man, after living with my lady for so long, I forget how it feels to be at the house by myself. The one upside is no interruptions when I'm watchin the tube!

Man, the grown folks were right when they said don't rush growing up..too much shit to worry about sometimes, and this economy problem is not helping.

I know Obama won't be super politician, but I know if by some bullshit chance, McCain actually wins, I'm seriously considering a 4 year vacation to Canada.

I can't stand how media outlets (mainly Fox news) keeps putting out the bullshit, especially about Sarah Palin. I find it hilarious because I'm not sure if they realize that in this new age of technology, their bonehead statements will forever be youtubed. In 10 years, people are gonna be laughing at these pundits that kept pushing this bullshit with a straight face.

I'm watchin this Sons of Anarchy...this show is off tha chain...its a peek into a culture I don't know shit about, and really aint tryna know.

I am tryna know about the back of my eye lids right now...

Peace

Political quote of the year

Some conservative named Kathleen Parker (check it on CNN.com) wrote an editorial about Sarah Palin which had this beautiful (and oh so true quote):

"If BS was currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself"

The end is near for the McCain campaign....I honestly believe if not after the presidential debate today, after the vice prez debate with Biden and Palin, Obama will run away with the race.

Trust? (shouts to Raven)

Trust:
I was reading a blog entry from an old friend of mine about trust...and I felt compelled to speak about it from my perspective.

I used to say "one and done!" Meaning if I was ever cheated on, she was gettin the boot. But times have changed.

After being married for 2 years, and in a relationship for about 4...my thoughts on trust and cheating specifically have changed.

First off, I've found peace and comfort knowing that I trust my wife, but also that I don't, won't and can't know the actual truth. I'm cool knowing that my wife very well could be lying to my face and doin her thang with the next nigga..but that I trust she is honest when she tells me she was hanging with her patnas last night, yada yada.

Unless you are crazy with the spy, private investigator shit, you can't know what your woman or man is doing. I got patnas that truly believe that their woman would never cheat on them but the truth of the matter is...they don't know.

For me, the whole idea of cheating doesn't even hold that type of power over relationships anymore. Maybe from being married, or me getting older, or working thru the dishonesting and trust issues with my wife about small shit early in our relationship, but for whatever reason,I don't care about her cheating..as much. my relationship means and his worth more than one mistake.

My thing is, if my wife was to cheat, the action itself is very insignificant to me in the larger scope of life. I'd be much more hurt and angered if she told me she was falling in love with some nigga compared to her cheating with some cat.

Iono...maybe it's a crazy perspective...might change if I ever get cheated on....who knows

umm...my life...

I was aim'n with a homegirl of mine from highschool...and I was thinkin, "damn I was a square in highschool"

I wasn't the gettin picked on, sucka ass square...more so the quiet, not cool enough to really kick it with the "in crowd" square.I played football, but I also studied a lot, so I was like right in the middle..

So I asked her, "why did you go to junior prom with me"? She basically said I was cool peoples..and in the friend zone...

The god damn friend zone...it was something I hated with a passion back in the day!! Haha I often got this response:

"you just too nice clif"

....I started thinkin, what the fuck..I'm suppose to be rude? That's how I get some females?!?

I never felt comfortable goin that route. I also never lied to females or played with they emotions (I've only told one female I love her...who is now my wife).

But one thing my homegirl said (that I've heard before but not really sure if it was meant positively or negatively) was that I was "different"....and I forgot to ask her about it..

Damn, this entry is jumpin all over the place.

Basically...umm...I don't know what the point was...I'm done

My Conversation with Rhymefest...

To preface all of this:
For those of you who don't know who rhymefest is:

And check around the 4:50 mark of this clip:

That's a song from Kanye West's first joint, College dropout.

aight, enough with the intro...

The Story:
I was watching a rhymefest interview and he stated that he runs his own myspace and that he responds to messages.

Normally rappers say that, but rarely do they actually respond. I hit him with a message, and to my amazement, he hit me back. I forgot exactly what I asked him (something about society), but he wanted to chop it up with me so he gave me his number (pause).

I hit him up and we chopped it up or whatever, and eventually the conversation came around to hip hop. He asked me to spit a 16.

I thought to myself, "this is my shot!!" So I spit the best one I could think of, and he was like "that was dope brother"....

....But that was it. Just like Kanye, I didn't get a deal or nothin...haha, but I did get respect from a grammy award winning emcee.

The journey continues...
